I’ve passed this noticeboard many times and never stopped to read it. It’s situated at the entrance to Bengal Court just off Birchin Lane in the City of London.

It wasn’t until I actually took the time to stop that I realised it’s a spoof sign. Firstly, the court is so narrow you’d never get a car into it, and it definitely doesn’t run into a Goods Yard. The official looking plate at the top is from a piece of Marine machinery, possibly an engine produced by the firm of J F Spencer. As for the pigeons, well the court is for the most part covered, so any pigeon wishing to gain access would have to walk in and in all the times I’ve passed by I’ve never even seen a single one.
what a narrow passage. I would feel very uncomfortable passing there.

It is quite narrow, two people can just about pass, but it’s not the narrowest alley in London. That honour goes to Emerald Court https://alondonmiscellany.wordpress.com/2021/05/21/little-things-please-little-minds/

I wonder who did it and why and how many people actually ever look at it. Good find.

It’s just one of those things that crop up now and again, it sort of finds its way into the culture. There are a few more of these urban myths that are now taken for granted. https://alondonmiscellany.wordpress.com/2021/03/24/hook-line-and-stinker/
